It’s Official! Donald Nwankwo Instituted as TLC’s New Rector on Aug 26

What a celebration!  Scroll down to see some pictures of this joyous day!

From left: TLC Deacons Toe Ma and Peggy Murray; newly installed TLC Rector The Rev. Donald Nwankwo; The Rt. Rev. Ken Ross, Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of the Rocky Mountains; recently retired TLC Rector The Rev. Jay Holsted; The Rt. Rev. Stephen Than Myint Oo, Archbishop of Myanmar (Burma) ; The Rev. Canon Jay Greener, Rector of Church of the Redeemer in Deerfield, IL.

The centuries-long tradition of apostolic succession in the Anglican Communion is continued here, by the prayerful laying on of hands by Bishop Ross and Archbishop Oo.

This was a joyful celebration, but still treated in a dignified way.

Pastor Donald and his beautiful family are welcomed by Bishop Ken Ross and our congregation.

Pastor Jay and Martha Holsted, who retired after fourteen years of service in April, are given a warm “Welcome Home!” by the congregation.

Donald came to TLC after serving in Jay Greener’s church in Illinois. Both colleagues share some warm thoughts as the service comes to an end. We are reminded of Jay’s early music ministry at TLC, back when we first formed in 2000.

The founding Pastor of TLC, The Rt. Rev. Gerry Schnackenberg, joined us in celebration of our new Rector. Shown with him are two of many old friends, TLC’s Rev. and Mrs. Jim Nylund.
