Advent, which begins the liturgical year, is a four-week season in December that gives us a chance to slow down and focus on the birth and second coming of Jesus Christ. On each Sunday in Advent we light a candle that represents a particular message: Hope, Love, Joy, Peace. By the end of Advent, we are prepared to light the white candle and celebrate the coming of Emmanuel, God with us!
During the Christmas season, we celebrate for 12 days, starting on Jesus’ birthday. During this season, we celebrate the birth of Christ into our world and into our hearts, and reflect on the gift of salvation that is born with him.
