What to Expect

We engage with what it means that God’s Kingdom is not only a future promise but also a present reality within our world now, ushered in by Jesus Christ.

This reality shapes our worship, discipleship, community life, and outreach. It also speaks to the way we have embraced our multi-ethnic, multi-generational context as a church family.

We believe in the power of God to redeem, therefore our culture is heavily shaped by a grace-filled and redemptive posture.

CHURCH CULTURE

We value worship that is Anglican in form and Spirit-led in expression.

Worship is the core that brings all aspects of our identity together. In it we celebrate the King who loves and redeems us, and who invites us into His redemptive story in the world.

When we gather for worship, we want to invite people into a heartfelt encounter with God and send them filled in the power of the Spirit as God’s people in the world.

FAQs

  • We love children! They are not tomorrow’s church. They are one church with us today.

Generally, the 10am service is better for families with children. The Children’s Ministry team is in full engagement during that service.

At the 10am service, our children (above nursery age) begin worship with us in the sanctuary. Just before the sermon, they proceed to their section for children’s discipleship class where they are taught the Scriptures with age-appropriate curriculum and delivery. They rejoin us during the “Passing of the Peace” (i.e., just before Communion) to partake of the Lord’s Table together with us and stay to the closing of the service.

The 8am service does not have the children’s discipleship time, so families stay together for the entire service.

  • Yes, we have a nursery in both services for infants through age 4. We love our children and take their spiritual, emotional, and physical well-being seriously. Our caring nursery staff are background checked and trained to follow all abuse prevention policies.Description text goes here

  • Yes, we have Sunday School (or Christian Education) for all ages on Sunday mornings at 9am except in the summer months.

  • You can dress however you would like. Some like to dress up, others dress casually.

    1. The 8am service is a shorter, more formal worship liturgy lasting about an hour. The 10am service is a fuller and less formal service lasting about 1.5 hours.

    2. The music in the 8am service is more traditional and the sermon is shortened. The music in the 10am service is more contemporary and the sermon is full length.

    3. The 10am service better reflects the cross-cultural flavor of TLC’s people and worship.

    4. Due to the children’s ministries included during the 10am service, it tends to work better for families with kids.

    5. Both services have Communion.

We typically go to a single service at 9am in the summer months from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend.tem description

  • Yes, we have two parking lots, one on the east side of the building and the other on the west side. You may park in either one.

Please do not park along Yale Ave. If both lots are full, you may park on the side streets.

  • Yes, the handicap accessible entrance is on the west side of the building. If you need to use it, please park in the west lot and use the ramp. If the door is closed, please ring the bell and someone will get the door for you.

  • Absolutely! We use a bulletin and screen that allow you to fully participate in worship. Our hope is that you not only engage with it but also that you appreciate it. Our worship services are structured to be accessible for all.

  • It simply means the form that the worship takes. It refers to the pattern or order of our worship.
